"Many of our supporters are already aware of this via email, but with the long weekend's social media slowdown behind us, we feel it's vital to get this announcement out today: our team fully supports Jeff Hoehn in his runoff for City Council here in District 6!!!
We believe Jeff is *absolutely* our best chance at getting REAL representation for the entirety of D6. We've had some lengthy conversations about the issues affecting all of us, and I'm excited by how open and amenable Jeff is to hearing every voice in our district. Our vision for Route 66 in Albuquerque is aligned, and I look forward to more conversations around informed economic development and shaping the future of the Mother Road, as well as revitalizing our once-vibrant business corridors across the southeast. I feel strongly that Jeff will listen to the voices of our neighbors and help realize our shared vision of smart, sustainable, safe, and walkable communities, making crucial decisions informed by the people who live and work here. Jeff's strong business acumen, honesty, and transparency with running an important non-profit is the kind of actual lived experience Southeast Albuquerque deserves. He will make a tremendous advocate for a district that the city and its administration has largely left behind.
Now is not the time for identity politics and ticking boxes- our future is at stake and we need strong, open, and honest leadership. Let's work together to help District 6 realize our full potential- get ready to get out the vote and get Jeff in to City Council! Early Voting starts Nov. 21 with Election Day on December 12th... see you at the polls, D6!!!"

I am a pro-union, life-long New Mexican Democrat. I have lived in the University Heights, South San Pedro, and like many District 6 neighbors, including my little brother, the Cinnamon Tree Apartments. I am a transgender LGBTQ activist. I am writing this with a signed and sealed ballot for my friend Jeff Hoehn in the absentee voting box. If you live between I-25, Gibson, Lomas, and Eubank, or in the Mesa Del Sol development, I urge you to vote in the 12/12 Runoff. Voter apathy is not the answer. Voter apathy is the status quo.
Our District is 7% Republicans, 26% Independents, and the remainder is Democrats. Jeff Hoehn is one of those Democrats. He was asked to run by friends and neighbors, battle-tested by his work at the Carrie Tingley Foundation and Cuidando Los Niños, and now he's ready to be a progressive voice for all of us in District 6.
It amazes me how much attention our small City Council race has garnered. Some that worry me are Congressional Representatives, who I would hope would have more vital calls to make to more important people, to highly connected Democratic Party-political consultants. The Democratic Party mobilized for Abel Otero, before ethics issues forced him out of the race. Then they quietly switched their support to Nichole Rogers, only to find her mired in far less harmless controversies. This is not accountability.
I am very concerned by anyone who would attempt to define or divide our District, or anyone who thinks they “get to select who the winner will be”, rather than electing by the will of the voters. I do not underestimate District 6. As one of Jeff Hoehn's first volunteers, I have knocked 500 doors on his behalf and I have heard often that voters will do the research on the candidates. When they do so, I have faith that they will see one candidate with a strong work ethic, with honesty, integrity, and empathy, one proven leader who we can trust to fight for one District 6.
Vote for Jeff Hoehn on December 12th for the change we need, now most of all.
“I’ve worked with Jeff Hoehn in a leadership capacity in Nob Hill for years. He served in the Public Safety Committee for the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association as a board member and then went on to serve as the President. Jeff’s skills in organizational management are outstanding! He is especially gifted at listening to people and creating positive solutions. Jeff is not a leader who desires power or is self-
serving but is truly committed to helping people through consensus building. He is honest, compassionate and has integrity. Jeff has respect for all humanity. Jeff will be a greater asset to Albuquerque when he is elected to City council for District 6. Jeff, you have my VOTE!"
"In our work together on neighborhood issues Jeff’s been a super partner; a servant of the community. He will dig into the complex issues of city government. He’s spent years helping vulnerable populations. He’s the candidate who will best serve ALL of District 6."
"Jeff Hoehn as City Councilor is not just a win for D6 but a win for Lobo Nation and all who aspire to work in public service. I have worked with Jeff in the areas of early childhood, homelessness and racial equity. The kind of help that we need in the International District in order to have a chance at fulfilling our best potential is predicated on giving your vote to Jeff. We can't miss this chance to repair the damage of our past political failure, just to experiment to see what can happen. Help us change the reality of what people see and think about D6. This is not the time to be bamboozled by identity politics. Jeff Hoehn is the best choice for the immediate and long term future of Albuquerque, District 6 and the International District."
"Many years ago, while Jeff Hoehn was trying to move up the ranks of Albuquerque's culinary world and start his family, I had the pleasure of working alongside him. Through the years of our collaboration, I was always amazed by his incredible work ethic, honesty, and kindness. He talked about his desire to shift his career, in order to do more for his community. As the years went by, I watched him use his solid values, talent and education to help others and to better our city. I am very proud to be Jeff's friend, and I am looking forward to seeing him bring his compassion and skills to our City Council!!"
“Jeff Hoehn is already a community leader in social service delivery, and has deep experience in bringing essential services to underserved communities. His voice on the City Council will be a tremendous asset to moving District 6 and our City forward. I endorse Jeff wholeheartedly.”
