FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR NETWORK
Nonprofit executive Jeff Hoehn, candidate for City Council for District 6, qualified for the ballot on Friday, July 7, 2023. He did so before the deadline and with 93 signatures in addition to the required 500, an indication of the strong support that he already has in a race that is expected to draw multiple candidates.
The majority of Jeff’s signatures came from door to door visits throughout District 6. Jeff personally knocked on thousands of doors and spoke to hundreds of voters all over District 6, from Mesa del Sol to Nob Hill to the International District. His campaign’s professional staff as well as dozens of supporters and volunteers also helped with the effort to gather signatures to qualify for the ballot come November 7.
During the qualification period, Jeff had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of constituents face to face. He said, “It was refreshing to hear the unfiltered concerns and hopes voters have in District 6.”
Jeff plans to continue speaking directly to as many voters as he can between now and November. He invites you to contact his campaign via email at Jeff4D6@gmail.com or phone 505-868-5428 so that you can personally speak to Jeff and ask questions about his policy positions. As a candidate and as a City Councilor, Jeff will stay in close contact with the many diverse constituents of District 6. He is an excellent listener! You can get information about Jeff’s campaign, his experience, and his policy positions on the campaign website: http://www.jeff4d6.com
Jeff is also by far the most qualified candidate in the race for City Councilor for District 6. His experience and personal qualities mean that he will seamlessly take office and bring strong leadership for District 6 to the City Council. He has provided leadership for almost five years as executive director of Cuidando Los Niños, a well respected nonprofit that was established more than 35 years ago. Cuidando Los Niños helps break the cycle of homelessness in our community with a preschool for children experiencing homelessness.
Under Jeff’s leadership, Cuidando Los Niños has been able to dramatically expand both the preschool and the services it provides to families, which now include housing assistance, workforce development, transportation, and meaningful connections to mental health and other resources. Choosing to serve a vulnerable population at the extreme edge of poverty, Jeff has enormous empathy. He also has practical knowledge of the ways in which city policies and programs can elevate or stand in the way of economic development and crucial social services across the city.
Jeff will bring well-informed positions on critical issues such as homelessness, housing, crime and public safety to City Council.
